Terms
Terms of sale
These terms apply when you buy from Pup & Tiger, book a ticket, or make a support payment. They do not take away rights you have under UK law.
About these terms
They cover Editions and other physical works, printed publications, event tickets, and support payments offered on this site. Writing published free of charge is not a sale. A Curates enquiry is a conversation, not an order. Commissioned work is agreed separately.
We do not currently sell downloads. If we do, we will explain the cancellation position for that download before you pay.
Ordering and support are available only when the page you are using says they are open.
About Pup & Tiger
Pup & Tiger is the trading name of Pup and Tiger Ltd, a company registered in England, company number 16307769. The registered office is 18 City Wall Avenue, Canterbury, England, CT1 2FZ.
We are not registered for VAT. A receipt from us is not a VAT invoice. For an order, a return, a ticket, or a complaint, write to info@pupandtiger.co.uk.
Ordering from us
Adding something to the basket does not place an order. At checkout you will see what you are buying, the price, and any delivery charge before you pay. The button that takes payment is the point at which you agree to pay the amount shown. A contract for a paid order is made when that payment is accepted.
The confirmation email records the order. While an order is unpaid, we may hold the work for a short time and then release it. If we cannot fulfil an order, including because of a pricing error, we will tell you and refund what you have paid.
Prices and payment
The price is the amount shown before you pay, including any delivery charge for the option you choose. Card payments are taken by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
Editions and artworks
The page for a work describes it: the title, the artist, the price, and the details that matter, such as the edition size. A signature or an edition number is part of that published edition. The work must match that description, be of satisfactory quality, and be fit for any particular purpose you have told us about and we have accepted.
Where a print process produces small differences, the page will say so. An Edition, publication, or other item made to our published description is not treated as personalised, including where it is signed, numbered, or produced after you order.
If an item is made or personalised to your own instructions, we will say so before you order, and we will say whether the usual right to change your mind does not apply.
Availability and edition numbers
An edition size on the page is the size of that edition. Availability is confirmed when the order is accepted. If a work is no longer available, we will not take payment for it, or we will refund you if payment has already been taken.
Delivery
Delivery options and charges are shown at checkout for the address you give. Any delivery time we give is an estimate, not a guaranteed date. The delivery charge is the price of that delivery. It is not a statement that the shipment is insured, or that a carrier will pay you the value of the order.
Returns explains what to do if something is damaged, incorrect, or missing.
International delivery, customs and import charges
We ship to selected destinations outside the United Kingdom. The countries currently available, the delivery options, and the charges are shown at checkout.
An international order may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, or handling charges imposed by the destination country. Unless we expressly say otherwise at checkout, those charges are not included in the price you pay us, and they are the responsibility of the recipient.
Customs clearance can delay a shipment. A delivery estimate for an international order is an estimate, not a guaranteed date.
We may be unable to deliver a particular work to some destinations because of carrier, customs, or product restrictions. If we cannot fulfil an order after accepting it, we will contact you and refund the amount affected.
If you return an item from outside the United Kingdom, email us before you post it. Unless the item is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, you are responsible for the cost of sending it back, including any charges that arise on the return.
Collection
Where collection is offered, it is free. We will write to you with the arrangement. Please do not send a return, or come to collect an order, at the registered office unless we have asked you to.
Changing your mind
If you buy an Edition, publication, or other standard item online, you may cancel within 14 days after the day you, or someone you nominate, receive it. You do not have to give a reason. This includes signed and numbered Editions made to our published description.
This right may not apply to an item made or personalised to your instructions. Where that applies, we will make it clear before you place the order.
Email info@pupandtiger.co.uk before the 14 days end. You then have 14 days to send the item back, carefully packed. Unless it is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, you pay the cost of posting the return. We will send you the return address. We refund the price of the item and the cost of the standard delivery you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery when a cheaper one was available, we refund the cheaper amount.
You may look at the work as you would before buying it. If it is handled beyond that and loses value, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss.
Faulty, damaged, incorrect or missing items
If an item is faulty, arrives damaged, is not what you ordered, or does not arrive, email info@pupandtiger.co.uk with your order number. Photographs of the packing and the work are enough to start this. You do not have to make a claim to the carrier yourself.
We will repair, replace, or refund. You can reject a faulty item within 30 days of receiving it, and your rights do not end then. We pay the cost of return when the item is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered. If the outer packing is damaged and the work is not, tell us. That is not, by itself, a faulty work.
Our arrangement with a carrier does not reduce what we owe you.
Refunds
We refund within 14 days of receiving the item back, or of receiving evidence that you have sent it, whichever is sooner. We refund by the same method you used to pay, unless you agree otherwise.
Event tickets
A ticket is for the event described, on the date and at the place shown. A ticket for a dated event does not come with the 14-day cancellation right that applies to goods.
If we cancel the event, we will refund the ticket price. If we change the date or the place, you may take the new arrangement or a refund of the ticket price. A small change to a programme that leaves the event substantially as described does not, by itself, require a refund. A change that alters what you bought does.
If you cannot attend, write to us. We will tell you whether the ticket can be transferred or refunded. Tickets are not for resale.
We may refuse entry where that is needed for safety, or for an age limit shown on the event. Photography or filming may take place, for the archive, for editorial use, or for the press. If you do not want to be photographed, tell a member of staff or write to info@pupandtiger.co.uk beforehand. Events are not aimed at children unless the page says so.
Support payments
Support payments are voluntary contributions to Pup and Tiger Ltd. They do not purchase goods, services, or membership, and they are not eligible for Gift Aid.
The amount is shown before you pay. Nothing is taken until you confirm that payment. If you start regular support, you can end it from the confirmation page or by writing to info@pupandtiger.co.uk. Ending it stops further payments. It does not undo a payment already made.
The returns process for Editions does not apply, because nothing is supplied in return. If a payment was taken in error, or you ask within 14 days of paying, we will refund it.
Intellectual property
Buying a work does not transfer copyright in it. You keep any intellectual property you already own. An open-call application gives us permission to store and review the material for that call. It does not assign copyright. The application form states that permission.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Nothing here reduces your statutory rights.
Your personal information
We use personal information as described in the privacy notice.
Changes to these terms
The terms in force when you place an order, buy a ticket, or make a support payment apply to that transaction. We may update these pages for later transactions.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also use the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
