Pup & Tiger is queer-led, and that perspective shapes the work: who has room, how people enter a project, and what makes participation possible. Curates works across subjects, artists, places, and contexts.
We can shape an exhibition, a commission, a programme, a temporary site, or a question that is not a show yet.
What we can help with
- Exhibitions
- Shaping a show: which artists, in what order, in what space, and what a visitor needs in order to enter the work.
- Commissions
- Finding an artist for a site, an audience, or a question, and writing a brief that says what is being asked.
- Programmes
- A series of events, talks, screenings, performances, or writing that belongs to a place.
- Public and temporary work
- Work made for a street, a building, a landscape, or a site that is only available for a defined time.
- Collections
- We can advise on what to acquire, from whom, and how a work should live once it arrives.
- Editorial and research
- We can write interpretation and public text, and do the research that should happen before a concept is fixed.
How the work is approached
- Artists are collaborators
- A commission is a brief, a fee, and a person making the work.
- Context before spectacle
- The site, the audience, and the reason for the project come before the look of the installation.
- Access is part of the brief
- Arrival, sensory demand, and whether the writing lets someone in are decided with the brief, including for neurodivergent audiences.
- Budgets stay honest
- A rough budget shows what is possible. Artists are paid clearly for the work being asked.
Who can start
Independent artists and artist groups are welcome. So are galleries, universities, venues, public bodies, and people with a site or a brief.
